On Friday, November 14th, our 5th graders spent a wonderful afternoon celebrating Native American Heritage Month!
Students took part in hands-on cultural experiences including salmon tasting, traditional arts and crafts, huckleberry muffins, drumming and dancing, exploring artifacts from the Colville Confederated Tribe, and listening to meaningful storytelling from special guest, Dan Nanamkin.
A sincere thank you to our 5th grade teachers for organizing this rich learning opportunity for our students. Your dedication helps our Eagles learn, honor, and appreciate the cultures and traditions of our region.

🇺🇸 Veterans Day at East Omak Elementary 🇺🇸
On Friday, November 7th, our school community came together for a very special Veterans Day Assembly. Our 5th graders, under the direction of our new music teacher, Mrs. Joneen Ingram, led us beautifully in three musical pieces—including a heartfelt performance of The Star-Spangled Banner. We are so proud of their voices and their leadership!
Students also served as speakers and presenters throughout the assembly, and many had the meaningful opportunity to introduce the veterans within their own families and community. It was a powerful reminder of the bravery, sacrifice, and service that surrounds us every day.
A highlight of the assembly was a flag folding ceremony led by veterans Steven Morrison and Dennis Yoder. On behalf of all Okanogan County Veterans, Steven and his wife, Trisha Morrison, generously donated a United States flag that previously flew over our nation’s Capitol. This flag will now be proudly displayed in a special case in our school’s foyer, serving as a lasting reminder of honor, respect, and gratitude.
We are deeply thankful to our Veterans and their families.
