Welcome to Omak School District's Highlands High School and Alternative Programs!

The primary goal of Highlands High School and Alternative Programs is to meet the diverse needs of our students, helping them achieve academic success and personal growth. Alternative programs are designed to cater to the educational needs of a wide range of students, from young children to those nearing the end of their secondary education and are offered outside of the general education classroom setting.

This year, the Omak School District is excited to introduce an additional program titled Open Doors. The Open Doors program is open to students 16 years or older who are deficient in high school credits. Students participating in Open Doors can obtain both a GED and a high school diploma. This new program is designed to provide flexible pathways to graduation, ensuring that every student has the chance to succeed regardless of their circumstances.

To enroll in any of the Omak School District’s alternative learning programs, students must be committed to meeting the following criteria:

  1. Academic Performance: Maintaining satisfactory grades and meeting basic academic requirements.

  2. Behavioral Standards: Adhering to the school's code of conduct and demonstrating appropriate behavior.

  3. Attendance: Attending regularly and not having excessive absences or tardiness.

  4. Parental/Guardian Support: Often requiring consent and support from parents or guardians for the enrollment process.

  5. Readiness and Commitment: Showing a willingness to engage in the alternative learning experience and commitment to each program’s requirements and goals.

Meeting these criteria ensures that students are prepared and capable of benefiting from the unique opportunities and challenges presented by the Omak School District's alternative learning programs. We are excited to provide learning opportunities where all students can thrive.
