School bus drivers' training got a little more intense than usual

We simulated a “bus full of smoke” scenario to prepare drivers and staff for emergency situations. While it may look alarming, this hands-on training is critical to ensuring everyone knows exactly what to do if the unexpected happens.

From quick decision-making to safe evacuation procedures, our team stepped up and handled it like pros. Safety is always our top priority, and practices like this help protect what matters most, our students.

Huge thanks to everyone who participated and helped make this training a success!

Freshman Transition Night at Omak High School

Omak High School was proud to welcome incoming freshmen and their families for an engaging and informative Freshman Transition Night, led by Principal David Kirk.

Families had the opportunity to learn about an exciting change for the upcoming school year: Omak High School is transitioning from a quarter system to a trimester schedule, a shift designed to enhance learning opportunities and provide greater flexibility for student success.

The evening also highlighted:
*College-bound pathways and academic planning
*Course expectations and graduation requirements
*A showcase of the many athletic programs available to students
*Opportunities to get involved and stay connected throughout high school

It was a great night of connection, information, and preparation as we look ahead to the next chapter for our incoming students. We’re excited to partner with families to ensure every student feels confident, supported, and ready to thrive at Omak High School!
